A lot has happened since I last updated this site.

Motion Rig

A HUGE change in my flight simming occurred recently when the motion rig user "Hannibal" posted in the DCS forums that he did not suffer rig breaking shakes on certain super carriers. Motion simulation of carrier operations is one of my primary drivers for all of this so this is outstanding news. I've tried it and have not had issues with the shakes. Now I can finally get on with actually flying the passion.

I was introduced to new motion software called "SimHub", thanks to a great youtube video by the bloke on "Limitless VR & Simrigs". I've installed this software to drive my SFX-100 four poster motion rig and it is brilliant. I had used "SimTools" for quite a while now, and it has served me very well over the years, but the fidelity of SimHub was extremely impressive and easy to use. (No, I have no financial affiliations with anyone.) So now I am finalising the motion for DCS World jets like the F-18, then props and helo's. After that, IL-2, MSFS and cars. I am still using SimTools for my g-Seat. I should be updating this website with more details about it in the future.

Controllers

After much investigation I was able to program up 4 individual Arduino Mega2560 boards as 8 x Analogue and 64 button HID USB devices. These will be built up into cockpit panels on the motion rig. The panels are getting close to being 3D printed now as most parts have been received. More details and files to follow.

A helicopter collective HID USB device has been built around the Teensy 3.6 and it has tested out okay. More details and files to follow.

The working WinWing joystick has been mounted on the T80 extrusion post on the motion rig with a quick change adaptor that also takes the G29 steering wheel and a soon to be built yoke. More details and files to follow.

Skins

The last couple of years has been taken up with the study of Luftwaffe camouflage and markings, predominantly with the Bf109. I am hoping to apply this knowledge to the skins I have done previously and bring them up to FTC standards. (The Flying Tin Cans)

Lots to do, never enough hours in the day!
